Basketball Game Preview: Rodriguez Mustangs vs. West Wolfpack

The Rodriguez Mustangs will square off against the West Wolfpack at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Rodriguez is headed into Tuesday's matchup hungry for a win as their strong season has now been derailed by two straight losses. The contest between them and Vanden didn't end well, with Rodriguez falling 67-52. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 237th, while the Vikings are ranked 117th).

Despite their defeat, Rodriguez saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Khamanni Martin, who posted nine points, was perhaps the best of all. Martin is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last six games he's played. Jermaine Missouri was another key player, putting up nine points.

Meanwhile, West came up short against Tracy on Friday, falling 76-56. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Wolfpack have suffered against the Bulldogs since February 11, 2022.

West has traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 16-12 record this season. As for Rodriguez, their defeat dropped their record down to 20-7.
