Football Game Preview: NFL Yet Academy Eagles vs. Scottsdale Preparatory Academy Spartans

The NFL Yet Academy Eagles will face off against the Scottsdale Preparatory Academy Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. NFL Yet Academy will be strutting in after a win while Scottsdale Preparatory Academy will be coming in after a defeat.

NFL Yet Academy took a loss when they played away from home last Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They never let Madison Highland Prep get on the board and left with an 18-0 victory.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 49 points the game before, Scottsdale Preparatory Academy was a bit more limited in their game on Friday. They lost to Arizona Lutheran Academy on the road by a 25-6 margin. The contest marked the Spartans' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

NFL Yet Academy will have to contain Braxton Whittington as he made an impact in Scottsdale Preparatory Academy's last game. He picked up 109 receiving yards and one score. Whittington got the majority of those receiving yards when he pulled down a pass and took off for a gain of 55 yards.

Scottsdale Preparatory Academy's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for NFL Yet Academy, their win ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-5.

NFL Yet Academy was dealt a bruising 53-0 defeat at the hands of Scottsdale Preparatory Academy in their previous matchup back in September of 2022. Thankfully for the Eagles, Tyler Johnson (who threw for 307 yards and five touchdowns while completing 85% of his passes, and also rushed for 42 yards and one TD) won't be suiting up this time.
