Baseball Game Preview: NorthPoint Christian Academy NightHawks vs. Metrolina Christian Academy Warriors

The NorthPoint Christian Academy NightHawks will face off against the Metrolina Christian Academy Warriors at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

NorthPoint Christian Academy is headed out to face Metrolina Christian Academy after opening their season at home and giving their fans just what they were looking for. NorthPoint Christian Academy walked away with a 5-2 victory over Lake Norman Christian on Monday. The win was nothing new for the NightHawks as they're now sitting on 14 straight dating back to last season.

Micah Enriquez made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That one hit allowed gave him a new career-low. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing five bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in stolen bases.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Max Porter, who went 1-for-4 with four stolen bases and two RBI. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

Meanwhile, everything went Metrolina Christian Academy's way against Corvian Community on Tuesday as Metrolina Christian Academy made off with an 11-1 victory.

Jacob Seamon was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now stole at least one in each of the last four games he's played dating back to last season. Jackson Pierce was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Metrolina Christian Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Corvian Community only posted an OBP of .250.

NorthPoint Christian Academy suffered a grim 15-0 defeat to Metrolina Christian Academy when the teams last played back in March of 2024. Can NorthPoint Christian Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
