Volleyball Recap: Grand County Comes Up Short

After flying high against Monticello on Tuesday, Grand County came back down to earth. The Red Devils fell just short of the Emery Spartans by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. The loss continues a trend for the Red Devils in their meetings with the Spartans: they've now lost six in a row.

Grand County actually scored more points across those five sets (99-90), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The match finished with set scores of 13-25, 25-22, 12-25, 25-18, 15-9.

Grand County's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Emery, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Grand County has already played their next game, a 2-0 loss against Northridge on the 22nd. As for Emery, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Uintah at 6:30 p.m. on September 2.
