The Gray Collegiate Academy War Eagles had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 1 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They walked away with a 35-25 win over Legion Collegiate Academy. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Gray Collegiate Academy also won the last time the pair played two weeks ago.
Gray Collegiate Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Karlee Phelps, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Diamond Tatum was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Gray Collegiate Academy pushed their record up to 12-7 with that win, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Legion Collegiate Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 6-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Gray Collegiate Academy will take on Eau Claire at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Eau Claire focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 last Friday. As for Legion Collegiate Academy, they will head out on the road to square off against Weddington at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
