Basketball Game Preview: Orange Glen Patriots vs. San Diego Jewish Academy Lions

Orange Glen is on a 13-game streak of home losses dating back to last season, San Diego Jewish Academy a five-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck will change on Thursday. The Orange Glen Patriots will host the San Diego Jewish Academy Lions at 6:00 p.m.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 65-31, which was the final score in Orange Glen's tilt against Foothills Christian on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Patriots have suffered against the Knights since February 9, 2018.

Meanwhile, San Diego Jewish Academy came into Tuesday's game having lost ten straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They secured a 60-56 W over Calvin Christian on Tuesday.

Orange Glen better keep an eye on Jack Silberstein. He was instrumental in San Diego Jewish Academy's win, dropping a double-double on 27 points and 24 rebounds. Silberstein is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaron Sharf, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine boards.

San Diego Jewish Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in January of 2024.

Orange Glen's loss dropped their record down to 0-20. As for San Diego Jewish Academy, their victory ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-11.
