Basketball Recap: Covington Comes Up Short

After flying high against Morgan last Tuesday, Covington came back down to earth. The Covington Owls fell just short of the Avalon Eagles by a score of 37-34 on Friday. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Owls this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 45-37 back in January.

Covington's defeat dropped their record down to 14-8. As for Avalon, their win was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-4.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Bynum the next time they take the court. Avalon will head out to face Bynum at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Covington will head out to face them at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
