Basketball Game Preview: Riverdale Raiders vs. Mariner Tritons + Official Tickets

The Riverdale Raiders will head out on the road to square off against the Mariner Tritons at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Riverdale has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the contest with eight straight losses, while Mariner will come in with three straight victories.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Riverdale and LaBelle meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Monday. The Raiders were dealt a 65-35 defeat at the hands of the Cowboys/Cowgirls. While losing is never fun, the Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 706th, while the Cowboys/Cowgirls are ranked 338th).

The losing side was boosted by Jaiden Brown, who posted six points.

Meanwhile, Mariner posted their closest win since January 28th on Tuesday. They escaped with a win against Gateway by the margin of a single free throw, 85-84.

Riverdale's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Mariner, their victory bumped their record up to 7-4.

Riverdale was able to grind out a solid win over Mariner in their previous matchup back in January, winning 61-49. Do the Raiders have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Tritons turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
