Basketball Recap: Sumner Snags Eighth Win in Last Nine Games

Sumner hadn't done well against Olympia recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Sumner Spartans came out on top against the Olympia Bears by a score of 61-53. The Spartans have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Bears, too.

Sumner is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.0 points per game. As for Olympia, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 11-3.

Sumner will venture away from home to square off against Yelm at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Yelm has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the matchup with 11 straight defeats, while Sumner will come in with four straight wins. As for Olympia, they will be playing at home against Puyallup at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Olympia has won three straight at home, while Puyallup won five straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
