Volleyball Recap: Ponderosa Comes Up Short

Ponderosa was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 14th straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Pine Creek Eagles. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Mustangs of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2023.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-9, 25-17, 25-15.

Marissa Lynch paced Ponderosa's offense, picking up five kills. Lynch got some help from Rylie McNulty and her seven assists.

Pine Creek was led to victory by Alyssa Valdez and Keira Campbell. Valdez had 12 digs and one assist, while Campbell had two aces. That's the most aces Campbell has posted since back in September.

Ponderosa's loss dropped their record down to 3-18. As for Pine Creek, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 16-6.

Ponderosa has already played their next matchup, a 3-1 defeat against Chatfield on the 25th. As for Pine Creek, they will head out on the road to face off against Fountain-Fort Carson at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
