Baseball Game Preview: Charlotte S Stampede vs. St. Louis HomeSchool P Patriots

The Charlotte S Stampede will be taking part in a tournament against the St. Louis HomeSchool P Patriots at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Charlotte S is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They walked away with a 5-2 victory over Forsyth Home Educators. Surprisingly, this marked the Stampede's fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for St. Louis HomeSchool P, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They put the hurt on Memphis Home Education Association with a sharp 13-3 win on Friday. The victory continues a trend for the Patriots in their matchups with Memphis Home Education Association: they've now won three in a row.

Noah Parker spent all five innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on five hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Camden Rodriguez was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Ben Janssen was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

St. Louis HomeSchool P always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .588. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Memphis Home Education Association only posted an OBP of .333.

St. Louis HomeSchool P's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-13. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games. As for Charlotte S, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 18-15 record this season.

Charlotte S beat St. Louis HomeSchool P 7-3 when the teams last played back in May of 2023. Do the Stampede have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Patriots turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
