Baseball Recap: Temple Christian Triumphs

Temple Christian won the last time they faced Faith Christian Academy and things went their way on Friday too. Temple Christian walked away with a 7-4 win over Faith Christian Academy. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Crusaders.

Luke Gifford made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one double. Temple Christian is undefeated when Gifford posts two or more stolen bases, but 1-2 otherwise.

In other batting news, Tyler Cash was excellent, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 2-for-4. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

Temple Christian's record now sits at 4-2. As for Faith Christian Academy, their defeat was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-5.

Looking ahead, Temple Christian will host United Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Faith Christian Academy, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Westover Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on April 8. Faith Christian Academy's pitchers better be ready for this one: Westover Christian Academy has averaged an impressive 9.5 runs per game this season.
