Basketball Game Preview: Greeley Central Wildcats vs. Roosevelt Roughriders

The Greeley Central Wildcats will head out to challenge the Roosevelt Roughriders at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.

On Tuesday, Greeley Central was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 47-42 to Thompson Valley. The loss continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now lost five in a row.

Meanwhile, Roosevelt had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 33.6 points) and they went ahead and made it six on Tuesday. They blew past the Grizzlies 69-48. Given the Roughriders' advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 24th, while the Grizzlies are ranked 99th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Roosevelt is also on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.4 points per game. As for Greeley Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-8.

Greeley Central was dealt a bruising 63-28 loss at the hands of Roosevelt in their previous meeting back in January. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Roosevelt's Ryanne Bahnsen-Price, who almost dropped a double-double on 20 points and nine rebounds.
