Brush is 7-2 against Fort Morgan since December of 2014 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Brush Beetdiggers will take on the Fort Morgan Mustangs in a holiday battle at at 6:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Brush is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Roaring Fork just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Saturday. They took a 56-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rams. The loss was the Beetdiggers' first of the season.

Despite their loss, Brush saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Jocelynn Middlemist, who posted ten points in addition to seven boards and three steals, was perhaps the best of all. The team also got some help courtesy of Sidney Miller, who had seven points along with six rebounds and three steals.

Fort Morgan might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 38-34 to Bennett, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Fort Morgan's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Brush, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1.

Brush was able to grind out a solid victory over Fort Morgan in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, winning 39-27. The rematch might be a little tougher for Brush since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
