Basketball Recap: Cross Roads Takes a Loss

Cross Roads was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 76-20 loss at the hands of the Martins Mill Mustangs. The Bobcats were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-8.

Leading Martins Mill to victory were Ryder Marsh and Jak Kinder. Marsh almost dropped a double-double on 19 points and nine rebounds, while Kinder went 7 of 8 on his way to 19 points. Those 19 points gave Marsh a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Travis Baber, who posted seven points and five assists.

Cross Roads' loss dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Martins Mill, their victory was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 22-1.

Cross Roads will host Fruitvale at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Cross Roads is facing Fruitvale at the right time seeing as Fruitvale is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Martins Mill, they will face off against Frankston at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Frankston knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Martins Mill likes a good challenge.
