Softball Game Preview: HCYA vs. Kinkaid Falcons

HCYA will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against the Kinkaid Falcons at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The last three games HCYA has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

While HCYA's victory against Houston Christian wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. HCYA skirted past Houston Christian 5-3. That's two games straight that HCYA has won by exactly two runs.

The team relied heavily on Bijan Ali, who went 2-for-4 with one triple and one run. That triple was her first of the season.

Meanwhile, Kinkaid unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Tuesday. They lost 7-1 to Houston Christian. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Falcons have suffered since February 26th.

HCYA's win bumped their record up to 23-7-2. As for Kinkaid, their loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 9-8-1.

Everything went HCYA's way against Kinkaid when the teams last played back in March of 2025, as HCYA made off with an 18-5 victory. Will HCYA repeat their success, or does Kinkaid has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
