Football Game Preview: Phillipsburg Stateliners vs. Easton Area Rovers

Phillipsburg hasn't had much luck against Easton Area recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Stateliners will head out on the road to face off against the Rovers at 10:30 a.m. Phillipsburg's defense has only allowed 14.8 points per game this season, so Easton Area's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Phillipsburg heads in on the heels of a playoff game on Friday. They came up short against Ramapo, falling 41-20.

Meanwhile, Easton Area faced La Salle College in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Rovers were dealt a 49-7 loss at the hands of the Explorers. Having soared to a lofty 42 points in the game before, the Rovers couldn't push the score so high this time.

Phillipsburg's defeat dropped their record down to 10-2. As for Easton Area, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 13-1.

Phillipsburg couldn't quite finish off Easton Area in their previous meeting back in November of 2024 and fell 17-14. Can the Stateliners avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
