Football Recap: Quinten Maynard and Max Koppenhofer Lead the Defense for Napoleon Win

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Napoleon). They walked away with a 23-15 win over the Clay Eagles on Friday. For the Wildcats, this counts as revenge for the 35-14 victory the Eagles walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2024.

Napoleon can attribute much of their success to Hayden Groll, who rushed for 135 yards.

Napoleon's run defense was locked in: Clay could only muster 3.3 yards per carry. The Wildcats didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 6.3.

Napoleon didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Quinten Maynard and Max Koppenhofer.

The win got Napoleon back to even at 2-2. As for Clay, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 2-2.

Napoleon didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 42-12 victory against Northview on the 19th. As for Clay, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 49-6 win against Bowsher on the 19th.
