Avon Park had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the six-run drubbing they dealt DeSoto County on Thursday. The Red Devils put the hurt on the Bulldogs with a sharp  7-1 win. The  victory was nothing new for the Red Devils as they're now sitting on four straight.
 Jace King spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on six hits.
 On the hitting side,  Cam Engler was  excellent,  scoring a  run while going 2-for-3. He also put up a  double, which was his first of the season.  Carson Cloud was another key player,  scoring a  run and  stealing a base while going 1-for-2.
Avon Park's win bumped their record up to 18-6. As for DeSoto County, they have  been struggling recently as they've  lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-16 record  this season.
 Avon Park does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for DeSoto County, they will challenge Clewiston at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. The Tigers' pitching crew has only allowed 2.3  runs per game  this season, so the Bulldogs' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
