Softball Recap: Currituck County Takes a Loss

Currituck County was the 7-4 winner over Manteo when they last played one another back in March of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. Currituck County fell just short of Manteo by a score of 10-8 on Tuesday. The Knights have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Julianna Evans was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Kendra Daniels, who scored three runs while going 2-for-2.

Evans wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Currituck County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in March of 2024.

Currituck County's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Manteo, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-3.

Currituck County didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 10-5 loss against Grassfield on the 26th. As for Manteo, they will host Northside - Pinetown at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Northside - Pinetown has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.89 runs per game on average), something Manteo will no doubt try to take advantage of.
