The Tolono Unity Rockets will venture away from home to take on the Teutopolis Wooden Shoes at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Tolono Unity's pitching crew has only allowed 2.2 runs per game this season, so Teutopolis' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Tolono Unity gave up the first runs on Friday, but they didn't let that get them down. They blew past Paris 10-1. The result was nothing new for the Rockets, who have now won ten matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.
Danika Eisenmenger spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on five hits and racked up nine Ks.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Reese Frye, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Kenley Harris was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two runs.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Tolono Unity kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Paris only managed five hits.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Teutopolis, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg 4-3 on Thursday. The Wooden Shoes haven't had any issues with Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.
Teutopolis also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and she was also dialed-in: Alyssa Tipton gave up just two earned (and one unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up 12 Ks.
On the hitting side, Malea Helmink was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple was her first of the season.
Tolono Unity's record is now 14-3. As for Teutopolis, their record now sits at 7-5.
Everything went Tolono Unity's way against Teutopolis in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Tolono Unity made off with a 10-2 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rockets since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
