Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Holmen). They were the clear victor by a 95-71 margin over the La Crescent Lancers on Thursday. Given the Vikings' advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 41st in Wisconsin, while the Lancers are ranked 213th in Minnesota), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Holmen pushed their record up to 16-5 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 81.7 points over those games. As for La Crescent, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-11.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Holmen will face off against Eau Claire North at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for La Crescent, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Fillmore Central at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
