Football Recap: Faith Academy Starts Season with Defeat on the Road + How To Watch

Faith Academy had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They took a blow against the Fairhope Pirates on Friday, falling 41-6. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it six in a row.

Eli Quinley threw for 81 yards on 12 of 21 attempts. Kobe Hunt was his top target, picking up 57 receiving yards. On the ground, Theo Jackson rushed for 40 yards and one touchdown.

Bryon Martin had an outrageously good game for Fairhope as he picked up 92 receiving yards and one TD, and also rushed for 68 yards and one score. Those 92 receiving yards gave Martin a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Trey Garner, who threw for 132 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only ten passes.

The win got Fairhope back to even at 1-1.

Faith Academy and Fairhope will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Rams will square off against rival Citronelle at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Fairhope is set to take on their familiar foe Bryant at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
