Eau Gallie is a perfect 10-0 against Satellite since March of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Commodores will take on the Scorpio at 6:00 p.m. Eau Gallie will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.
Eau Gallie is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They blew past Rockledge 11-1. The result was nothing new for the Commodores, who have now won 12 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
Eau Gallie got a massive performance out of Abigail Latulippe, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Leah 'Spike' Pechart, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two runs.
Eau Gallie was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .458. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .323 or higher in five consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Satellite hadn't done well against Merritt Island recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Scorpio came out on top against the Mustangs by a score of 6-2. That's two games straight that the Scorpio have won by exactly four runs.
Isabella Barrera spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on five hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Elysse Fredenburg, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two doubles, and one run. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Makayla OBrien, who earned two runs and two stolen bases.
Eau Gallie's victory bumped their record up to 20-3. As for Satellite, their win bumped their record up to 9-13.
Satellite's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Eau Gallie has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.5 hits per game. It's a different story for Satellite, though, as they've been averaging 9.9 hits. Given Eau Gallie's sizable advantage in that area, the Scorpio will need to find a way to close that gap.
Eau Gallie got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in March against Satellite by a conclusive 10-0 score. Do the Commodores have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Scorpio turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
