Recap: Carrollton Warriors vs. Hoover Vikings
The Carrollton Warriors entered their tilt with the Hoover Vikings with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Carrollton took down Hoover 53-36 on Monday. Given Carrollton's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 107th, while Hoover is ranked 358th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Carrollton found their leader in underclassman Kylie Ujcich, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 11 steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Ujcich has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Brae Roudebush, who scored 13 points.
Carrollton has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season. As for Hoover, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-16 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Carrollton will challenge Strasburg-Franklin at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Strasburg-Franklin is coming into the match with four straight defeats at home, meaning Carrollton will have to defend against a team hungry for a victory. As for Hoover, they will head out on the road to take on Brecksville-Broadview Heights at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Brecksville-Broadview Heights is coming into the game with seven straight victories at home, so Hoover is out to stop a squad with plenty of momentum.
