Football Recap: Harrison Comes Up Short

Harrison had lost three straight at home, but on Friday they dropped down to 3-5 to make it four. They were dealt a 57-20 loss at the hands of the Roncalli Royals. The Raiders were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-7.

When it comes to explaining why Harrison lost, don't look at Lannon Nicoloff. Despite the final result, he threw for 254 yards and three TDs. Zion Clopton handled things on the ground, rushing for 82 yards.

As for Roncalli, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. Considering they have won four contests by more than 20 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Roncalli's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Alex Jarvis, who rushed for 146 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.7 yards per carry, and also picked up 63 receiving yards. Those 146 rushing yards gave Jarvis a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Collin Ash, who rushed for 78 yards and one score on only 11 carries.

Coming up, Harrison will head out to challenge Lebanon at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Roncalli, they will welcome East Central at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Trojans' defense has only allowed 12 points per game this season, so the Royals' offense will have their work cut out for them.
