The Chestnut Ridge Lions will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against the Forest Hills Rangers at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.
Chestnut Ridge's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. Everything went their way against Berkeley Springs as Chestnut Ridge made off with a 13-0 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Lions.

Kole Clark and Tyler Yatta did most of the damage at the plate: Clark went a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBI and one run, while Yatta scored a run while going 2-for-3. Those four RBI gave Clark a new career-high. Haydan Webb was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.
Chestnut Ridge always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .543. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Berkeley Springs only posted an OBP of .125.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Forest Hills, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over Richland on Thursday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Jake Yatsky was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over six innings pitched. What's more, he gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest he's had since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Bryce Roberts, who fired off two home runs, three runs, and four RBI while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Chase Williamson, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Chestnut Ridge now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Forest Hills, they now also have a winning record of 2-1.
Chestnut Ridge came out on top in a nail-biter against Forest Hills in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, sneaking past 1-0. Will Chestnut Ridge repeat their success, or does Forest Hills has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
