Baseball Recap: Boothbay Seahawks vs. Lisbon Greyhounds
Boothbay had lost five straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 3-5 to make it six. They fell just short of the Lisbon Greyhounds by a score of 6-5. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Seahawks of the 10-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Liam Jacobs was huge no matter where he played even without the win. On the mound, he struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off only one hit. He has become a key player for Boothbay: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least eight strikeouts, but 1-4 otherwise. Jacobs was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. That double marked the first that he has hit this season.
Jacobs wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Shawn Gamage, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. Gamage has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. Tyson French also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
As for Lisbon, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 6-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games.
On Lisbon's side, Lincoln Matthews looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits.
At the plate, Jayden Camp and Aiden Golino did most of the damage at the plate: Camp got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Golino got on base in two of his three plate appearances with four stolen bases and one run.
