Long Reach came into Wednesday's matchup having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They put the hurt on the Hammond Golden Bears with a sharp 3-0 victory on Wednesday. The Lightning have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Golden Bears, too.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-15, 25-17.

Meredith Brown paced Long Reach's offense, picking up eight kills. Brown got some help from Evalyn Ordonez and her 17 assists. Brown was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Long Reach picked up their first road win, bumping their record up to 2-6. As for Hammond, they dropped their record down to 0-7 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.

Long Reach has already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Howard on the 6th. Hammond has also already played their next match (against Marriotts Ridge), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
