Waltrip's rock-solid pitchers showed up for the team's third consecutive shutout on Saturday. They put the hurt on the Sharpstown Apollos with a sharp 17-0 victory. Considering the Rams have won seven matchups by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Waltrip pushed their record up to 9-4 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Sharpstown, they are on a 14-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Waltrip is set to face off against their familiar foe Galena Park at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Waltrip 3, Galena Park 0.9) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Sharpstown will take on rival Carnegie Vanguard at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
