Basketball Game Preview: Waynedale Golden Bears vs. Dalton Bulldogs

Waynedale is 1-9 against Dalton since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Waynedale Golden Bears will venture away from home to take on the Dalton Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Waynedale is headed into the match out to prove that what happened against Norwayne on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Waynedale took a blow against Norwayne, falling 76-38. The Golden Bears were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 44-22.

Meanwhile, Dalton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 51-45 heartbreaker at the hands of Smithville. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 350th, while the Smithies are ranked 122nd).

Dalton's defeat dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Waynedale, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-13.

Waynedale might still be hurting after the 57-35 loss they got from Dalton in their previous meeting back in January. Can Waynedale avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
