Volleyball Recap: KIPP Denver Collegiate Comes Up Short

KIPP Denver Collegiate entered their game against DSST: Conservatory Green on Wednesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The White Tigers fell just short of the Hornets by a score of 3-2. If the White Tigers were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Hornets when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

KIPP Denver Collegiate started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 18-25, 19-28, 25-21, 25-16, 18-16.

Nader Adam paced KIPP Denver Collegiate's offense, picking up 28 kills. Adam got some help from Alan Gonzalez and his 45 assists. Finally, Daniel Ramos kept KIPP Denver Collegiate's defense grounded, leading the team with seven blocks.

This is the second loss in a row for KIPP Denver Collegiate and nudges their season record down to 6-4. As for DSST: Conservatory Green, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-10 record this season.

Coincidentally, KIPP Denver Collegiate and DSST: Conservatory Green will both be playing Lincoln the next time they take the court. The White Tigers will head out to face the Lancers at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Hornets will host them at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
