Basketball Game Preview: Valley View Eagles vs. Poly Bears

Valley View is 0-10 against Poly since January of 2018 but things could change on Thursday. The Valley View Eagles are taking a road trip to square off against the Poly Bears at 6:30 p.m.

Valley View is headed into Thursday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their ninth straight game on Tuesday. They were dealt a 71-43 loss at the hands of Rancho Christian. While losing is never fun, Valley View can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 983rd, while Rancho Christian is ranked 138th).

Valley View's defeat came about despite a quality game from Kenneth Hutchinson, who went 5 of 11 en route to 14 points. Another player making a difference was Noah Grenier, who posted five points.

Meanwhile, Poly strolled past Arlington with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 55-37.

Poly is also on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.2 points per game. As for Valley View, their loss dropped their record down to 4-20.

Valley View was dealt a bruising 78-46 defeat at the hands of Poly in their previous meeting on January 14th. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Valley View was down 47-18.
