Game recap

PHOENIX, Ariz. - Greenway (Phoenix, Ariz.) took the final lead of the game on Saturday as Kade Greenhalgh thew a touchdown to Josh Marquez with less than a minute remaining, bringing the team to victory over Cactus (Glendale, Ariz.) 30-23.

After taking the lead on a touchdown run by Talal Yousufzai, the Cobras went into halftime with a 23-14 lead. The Demons took the lead for good with a Greenhalgh touchdown pass to Marquez in the fourth quarter.

Despite scoring zero points in the third, Greenway still trailed by nine points going into the fourth quarter. But 16 points in the fourth helped GHS pull out the victory.

The victory was a completely different match up compared to last season's game between these two teams, which Cactus took, 49-0.

The win was a nice bounce back for the Phoenix school, which lost to Peoria last week, 28-14. The loss comes after Cactus defeated Sunrise Mountain 34-31 last week. The victory ended Greenway's two-game losing streak.

In a III Section I game next week Greenway (3-2) takes on Sunrise Mountain, and Cactus (3-2) will go up against Independence also in a III Section I game.
