Football Recap: Cabool Takes a Loss

Friday just wasn't the day for Cabool's offense. They had to suffer through a 55-0 loss at the hands of the Houston Tigers. If the Bulldogs were looking for revenge after losing 56-0 to the Tigers when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Dj Riley was his usual excellent self, rushing for 133 yards and five TDs on only 13 carries for Houston. Those 133 rushing yards gave Riley a new career-high. Tucker Venn also helped out as he racked up 127 rushing yards.

This is the second loss in a row for Cabool and nudges their season record down to 1-3. As for Houston, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cabool will venture away from home to challenge Mountain Grove at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs will need to watch out since the Panthers have now posted at least 31 points in their last three matches. As for Houston, they are taking a road trip to take on Thayer at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
