Basketball Game Preview: Mt. Rainier Rams vs. Auburn Riverside Ravens

The Mt. Rainier Rams will take on the Auburn Riverside Ravens at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

On Wednesday, Mt. Rainier was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 50-45 to Tahoma. The Rams have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Auburn Riverside was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss. They took a blow against Kentwood, falling 105-65. While losing is never fun, the Ravens can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 297th, while the Conquerors are ranked 21st).

Auburn Riverside's defeat dropped their record down to 2-16. As for Mt. Rainier, their loss dropped their record down to 9-7.

Mt. Rainier took their victory against Auburn Riverside in their previous meeting back in December of 2024 by a conclusive 57-37. Will Mt. Rainier repeat their success, or does Auburn Riverside have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
