Basketball Game Preview: South Anchorage Wolverines vs. Dimond Lynx

South Anchorage hasn't had much luck against Dimond recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The South Anchorage Wolverines are taking a road trip to challenge the Dimond Lynx at 6:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

South Anchorage is headed into Tuesday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Friday. They were outmatched by West Anchorage and fell 53-23.

Meanwhile, Dimond faced Colony in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. Dimond came up short against Colony, falling 54-31. The contest marked the Lynx's lowest-scoring game so far this season.

South Anchorage will have to keep a close watch on Mecca Goldsberry and Katie MacDonald, a pair of players who had a big impact on Dimond's prior game. Goldsberry posted nine points and three steals, while MacDonald scored seven points and four steals. MacDonald is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as she's posted one of at least 45% in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Evan Hamey, who put up four points and three steals.

South Anchorage's loss dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Dimond, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-4.

South Anchorage took a serious blow against Dimond when the teams last played two weeks ago, falling 53-26. Can South Anchorage avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
