Baseball Game Preview: Bucyrus Redmen vs. Mapleton Mounties

Bucyrus is on a three-game streak of home losses, and Mapleton a 14-game streak of away losses dating back to last season. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Thursday. The Bucyrus Redmen will be playing at home against the Mapleton Mounties at 5:00 p.m. Bucyrus has given up an average of 10.3 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Bucyrus lost 15-1 to Colonel Crawford on Wednesday.

The home team had come away the winner the last six times Mapleton and South Central had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Mounties took a 9-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Trojans on Monday. Mounties fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Trojans since Monday.

Bentley Workman was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That home run was his first of the season. Gabe Wrobleski was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

Mapleton's loss dropped their record down to 0-15. As for Bucyrus, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-15.
