Football Recap: Sanderson Comes Up Short + How To Watch

After some red-hot attacks on offense in their last four matchups, Sanderson finally came back down to earth on Friday. They were dealt a 38-7 defeat at the hands of the Middle Creek Mustangs. While losing is never fun, the Spartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 135th, while the Mustangs are ranked 41st).

Chase Bowie threw for 105 yards on 12 of 19 attempts. J'Qarrion Malone was his top target, picking up 47 receiving yards.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Middle Creek to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ezra Jobe, who threw for 336 yards and three TDs while completing 78.6% of his passes. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Spencer, who rushed for 90 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Sanderson's loss dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Middle Creek, they pushed their record up to 6-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.
