Basketball Recap: Germantown Christian Sets Scoring Season-High Against Christian Academy

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Germantown Christian). They put the hurt on the Christian Academy Eagles with a sharp 58-36 victory on Saturday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Zach Sharrett was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 28 boards. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 9 rebounds per game. Ian Francis was another key player, putting up 13 points and three steals.

Germantown Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 24 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

The victory got Germantown Christian back to even at 3-3. As for Christian Academy, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Germantown Christian will head out to challenge Mars Hill Academy at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Christian Academy, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Germantown Christian at 1:30 p.m. on January 18, 2025.
