Basketball Recap: Malakai Wise Key Part of a Team Effort in Dons Win

There's no place like home for De Anza, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. They managed a 61-57 win over the Swett Warriors on Thursday. This was a revenge game for the Dons: when they faced off against the Warriors on January 7th, they had to take a 75-61 defeat.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead De Anza to victory, but perhaps none more so than Malakai Wise, who posted 21 points. Wise continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Jo'Zhon Stallworth was another key player, putting up ten points.

De Anza is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 6-9 record this season. As for Swett, their loss dropped their record down to 12-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. De Anza will take on El Cerrito at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. El Cerrito knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six matches -- so hopefully De Anza likes a good challenge. As for Swett, they will challenge Hercules at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
