Basketball Recap: Decatur Skates Past Tyee with Ease

There's no place like home for Decatur, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped on Wednesday as they easily beat the Tyee Titans 83-53. That's more bragging rights for the Golden Gators, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Dominique Degrate went supernova for Decatur, almost dropping a double-double on 27 points and nine rebounds. What's more, Degrate also racked up three steals, the most he's had since back in January of 2024. Damario Bougard was another key player, putting up 12 points and eight boards.

Decatur has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.7 points per game. As for Tyee, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-11.

Decatur wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 67-60 loss against Enumclaw on the 17th. Tyee has also already played their next contest, an 83-45 defeat against Inglemoor on the 17th.
