Football Recap: Saegertown Panthers vs. Cochranton Cardinals
Saegertown was the 55-0 winner over Cochranton when they last played one another back in October of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Panthers fell 24-14 to the Cardinals on Friday. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the loss, Saegertown still got an impressive performance from William Shaffer, who rushed for 63 yards and one touchdown, and also threw for 244 yards on only 19 passes.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Cochranton to victory, but perhaps none more so than Noah Carroll, who threw for 211 yards and one TD while completing 75% of his passes, and also punched in one score on the ground. The dominant performance also gave Carroll a new career-high in passer rating (125.2). A healthy portion of Carroll's aerial production (87 yards to be exact) went to CJ Shorts, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.
Saegertown now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Cochranton, they moved to 4-4 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak.
Coming up, Saegertown will take on Northwestern at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Cochranton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
