Basketball Recap: KIPP Denver Collegiate Takes a Loss

KIPP Denver Collegiate lost against DSST: Montview back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The KIPP Denver Collegiate White Tigers were dealt a 48-18 defeat at the hands of the DSST: Montview Knights. The matchup marked the White Tigers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

KIPP Denver Collegiate's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Nicole Ricalday, who posted five points and ten boards, and Jasmine Martel, who had two points and five rebounds. Ricalday has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last eight times she's played.

DSST: Montview got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Mykah Rimpson out in front who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten boards. Rimpson also grabbed five steals, which is notable because DSST: Montview is 11-2 when she posts at least five steals, but 1-3 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Sa'Veyah Rogers, who went 7 for 17 en route to 15 points and five steals.

KIPP Denver Collegiate dropped their record down to 6-9 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home. As for DSST: Montview, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 12-5.
