Softball Recap: Waldport Comes Up Short

Waldport was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 17-13 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bandon/Pacific Tigers. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Saturday (11), the Irish still had to take the loss.

Katlyn Morton was cooking despite her team's loss, firing off four runs, two triples, and three RBI while going 4-for-4. Another player making a difference was Kaitlyn Pickner, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-5.

Waldport's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Bandon/Pacific, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season.

Waldport has already played their next game (against Bandon), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Bandon/Pacific, they will welcome Toledo at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Boomers will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something the Tigers surely won't give up without a fight.
