Softball Recap: Astoria Makes It Nine in a Row at Home

Astoria got themselves on the board against Gladstone on Thursday, but Gladstone never followed suit. They walked away with a 4-0 win over the Gladstone Gladiators. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Fishermen also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2022.

Astoria saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Finley Cameron, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-2. Another was Nayomi Holmstedt, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-2.

Astoria pushed their record up to 2-0 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 8.6 runs. As for Gladstone, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Astoria will host The Dalles at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Gladstone, they will look to defend their home field on March 28th against La Grande at 1:00 p.m.
