Softball Game Recap: Millbrook Pioneers vs. Skyline Hawks

Millbrook fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Skyline on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 8-7 to the Hawks, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hawks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 8-7 on Wednesday.

This is the second loss in a row for Millbrook and nudges their season record down to 5-3. Even worse, they were so close both times: the losses came by an average of only one runs. As for Skyline, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-6.

Coming up, Millbrook will take on James Wood at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Colonels' pitching crew has only allowed 2.2 runs per game this season, so the Pioneers' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Skyline, they will challenge Handley at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Hawks are facing the Judges at the right time seeing as the Judges are stuck on a five-game losing streak.
