Volleyball Recap: Elite Comes Up Short

Elite was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Leroy Greene Academy Lions, falling 3-0.

While Elite was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Leroy Greene Academy's winning margin in every set. The final score came out to 25-8, 25-9, 25-16.

Leroy Greene Academy was led to victory by Diego Martinez and Ian Mora. Martinez had six digs and four aces, while Mora had five aces. The dominant performance gave Mora a new career-high in aces. Landon Carter also deserves some recognition as he served his first aces of the season.

Elite's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Leroy Greene Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 6-9.

Coming up, Elite will host Delta at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Leroy Greene Academy, they are taking a road trip to take on Creative Connections Arts Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
