Football Recap: Colt Davis' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Father Lopez over Orangewood Christian + How To Watch

While it was all tied up 7-7 at halftime, Father Lopez was not quite Orangewood Christian's equal in the second half on Friday. They took a 28-24 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rams. The Green Wave haven't had much luck with the Rams recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Father Lopez's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Colt Davis, who threw for 191 yards and three touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Rylan Demarsh, who picked up 86 receiving yards and one score.

Even if they lost, Father Lopez's defense still kept up the pressure with four sacks. Nick Reyes was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two himself.

Jack Benson was nothing short of spectacular for Orangewood Christian: he rushed for 94 yards and one TD on only 13 carries, and also picked up 30 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Father Lopez's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Orangewood Christian, the victory snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 3-4 record.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Father Lopez will welcome Halifax Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Orangewood Christian, they will host Bishop McLaughlin Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
