Volleyball Recap: Johnston Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Johnston had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They came out on top against the Southeast Polk Rams by a score of 2-0. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 back in September.

Cora Shaw paced Johnston's offense, picking up ten kills. Shaw got some help from Allison Ricke and her 17 assists. Norah Hany controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Johnston's victory bumped their record up to 13-15. As for Southeast Polk, their loss dropped their record down to 7-12.

Johnston and Southeast Polk could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Iowa Rankings. The Dragons will face off against Ankeny Centennial at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank disadvantage (88 vs. 2). Meanwhile, Southeast Polk (ranked 77th) will meet Dowling Catholic (ranked 11th) at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
